| The SMART
manual is a digital handbook that students can use in almost all classes.
The manual has guidelines for how a paper looks; it also includes how
to write up a science lab, how to document a power point, and how to
comply with copyright laws for music, video and pictures. Once you have
turned in a few projects that follow these guidelines, you probably will
not have to keep checking the handbook. Some classroom teachers may refer
frequently to other sections of this handbook: English and social studies
teachers may refer to the sections on documenting sources and the SMART
research process; science teachers may refer to the section on lab reports.
Another purpose of this handbook is to ensure uniformity and avoid confusion.
This should prevent the waste of valuable class time on the review of
very basic mechanics. This manual is aligned with the MLA documentation
style that Wake County has adopted as the standard. |
