Wake County Schools recommends PBWorks for wikis. There are 2 approved wiki applications:

  1. PBWorks
  2. Wikispaces

Podcasts
What is a Podcast?
Podcasts are audio (or video) broadcasts that can be downloaded and played on a digital audio device (MP3 player). The term podcast originated as a combination of iPod and broadcast.

Getting started with Podcasting.
Podcasts require some equipment. To create a podcast, you will need a digital recording device. This might be a computer, a digital voice recorder or an mp3 player with recording capability. Audio can be layered and editied using a free software called Audacity. Small files (less than 5 MB) can be embedded into a Blackboard shell.

**Please note that any time students are using web applications, students should remain anonymous. If a teacher identifies a school name, class name, teacher name (anything that would allow a user to identify a location), students should not be identified at all.

**The CyberSense training course available in Blackboard presents an overview of policies that may help in your use of web applications.
